OUR STORY
A shared love for local!
Our craft soda dream started more than twenty years ago when Adam discovered his love for ginger beer at Andy’s Sandwiches in Mānoa. Hawaii was not a great place for fans of this delicious soda. New flavors were only to be found on trips to the mainland. So Adam learned how to make it at home, yielding delicious if somewhat unpredictable fermentations with the occasional explosive batch. After studying plant sciences at Kapiolani Community College, Adam went on to study agriculture at UH Manoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. During a class discussion on the importance of value added products, the idea of a craft soda business using locally sourced ingredients began to take shape. Pursuing the idea, Adam took the advice of his sister and found a job with a new brewery. After several years he gained insight into the industry and equipment. Numerous customers requested non-alcoholic drink options, giving Adam an opportunity to make his first test batches. This is when Adam met Amelia and discovered a partner who shared his passion for supporting local agriculture. She was excited to use her project management skills from the Navy and to fulfill her dream of being an entrepreneur. Believing it would succeed with their combined skills, knowledge and enthusiasm; Zingipop Sodaworks was born.
